Welcome to Christian novelist Jim O’Shea, the author of three published novels, including the newly released Blood Sisters. We’re happy to have you join us, Jim!

1. Please describe your journey to becoming a Christian novelist.

I had an idea for a novel about ten years ago and my wife suggested I pursue it. I wrote eight chapters over the next few months and when she told me she liked them, I dove head-first into writing. Over the next five years I read countless articles on the basics of fiction, everything from showing vs telling, POV, unnecessary adverbs, and so much more. Over that time I finished a draft version of my first novel and continued to hone it based on the various articles and books, feedback, and some paid help from professional editors. I finally broke through when I was taken on by a Christian agent and he got me my first book deal. Several months of working with the publisher’s editor resulted in my first novel, The Linen God, which achieved very good reviews on Amazon.

Fast forward another five years, and my third novel has just been released and a fourth has just been completed. I’m here only because of hard work, a penchant for storytelling, and God’s grace.

2. How do you typically go about incorporating faith into your stories?

That’s easy for me because I see the world through the prism of faith. Incorporating faith into any situation, whether it be real-life or make believe, comes naturally.

3. Do you have a new novel in the works? If so, tell us about it!

I just completed the manuscript for “I, Witness”….. a Christian thriller combining international espionage, leading edge science, and a powerful message of redemption. I’m excited and am currently having it critiqued by a well-known professional acquaintance.

4. When you’re not writing, how do you like to spend your time?

I enjoy golf, travel, playing ice hockey, and hanging out with friends and family. I’m especially fond of my new granddaughter Charlotte.
